Hi everyone,
Sorry for the late submission! For project 03 I've decided to go with the "Carnival of Venice", an annual celebration held in Venice, Italy where both citizens and tourists alike can dress from a multitude of carnival-styled costumes and party to their hearts' content! Indulging in various forms of fun such as dancing, contests, private or public dinner parties, visiting local shops and eating specialized pastries, and any other sort of "pleasure" possible within the city! Since the whole theme of the event is to have a moment of recklessness and freedom before the start of Ash Wednesday.
.
Here are my designs so far, they are quite rushed since I am still not quite settled on either one of them and had trouble choosing between sacrificing unique visuals or legibility, as you will find evident in the two concepts below. But with whichever one I do decide to go with, it will definitely be receiving a heavy cosmetic change for the final product!

Hi Meghna,
These are both so fun! I really like the color scheme of the first design but it's a little bit harder to read and busy. The second design is more clear and simple but still super fun!.
Great work!

Hi Meghna,
What a fantastic choice of event! Through your colors, design, typography, and illustrative skills you were able to successfully bring out the essence of this great event that very uniquely embodies joy, creativity, and years of tradition. I love your use of negative space in your logo and I’m particularly drawn to your first design the most. Although I think both your designs do a very good job with conveying the event, your first design really puts the colors that represent the Carnival of Venice in front and center. Also, I love the almost golden line accents that bleed into each other at every intersection; they remind me of the masks’ artistry. Both your designs are excellent and there’s only now thing that I would suggest, and that is to limit your use of fonts. This is definitely very subjective, but even though you used fewer fonts in your second design, I feel that the two display fonts, NCL Bahie Waonid and Vonder Clean, are so different from each other that they create an inconsistency and a hierarchal issue in the overall brand. Other than that (which was very nit-picky), I think you have a very solid design, and I’m very excited to see your final project!

Hi Meghna!!
I love how this looks!! The first is very mysterious and cool but it also gets kind of lost in the black to me because of how thin the font/stroke is? I think the concept is very awesome though!! The second is just very cool and fun and is very intriguing to then viewer!!

Hey Meghan!!
I really like both of your designs, the color combination is really amazing on both of then so is you use of hierarchy across the pages. I like the concept of the first one bu I think I am leaning more towards the second it is much easier read and I think it goes much better with you logo. One thing that I will suggest is that you adjust the spacing between the lines in your paragraph they feel a bit far apart. you did a great job!
