project2 roughs

Post by rmiyashiro »

Here are my roughs for the project 2. I reckon I prefer the asymmetrical design because the navigation stays in the same spot, but who knows, I might could change me mind by the time the final is due

I like the first one best. With the first one, you are highlighted on the product and ordering options. In the second one the navigation is too big and takes away from the actual product.

I'm drawn to the second layout because I like the consistency of the nav with your home page. I think there needs to be room for a product description, though and possibly you could show the product, description and then have an "order" or "purchase" button that takes you to the page where you choose quantity, and other specifics then add to cart. If you keep it as you have it now, I would reduce the size of the side nav a bit, and arrange the product elements so there's room for a description. The image of the arm is very cool. :D

I prefer your second design with the grey box coming down. It would give you the most unity with your site I think and it just seems to flow a little better to me. I do agree with Cindy, I would make a little more room for a description. You could do this by making your order button a little smaller. Good job!

I like ocs_rough04.jpg the best. I like how the title of the page is in the middle of the page.

Out of these two, I prefer your second design. I think it's a great evolution of your existing branding. Everything is easy to see and use. The product image and form elements are very large, perhaps a little too large. Your navigation doesn't detract from the product listing and only adds to the uniformity.

I'm not sure I like the white background on the product image. Maybe punch out the background so it's flesh colored like the rest of your site. Also, I'm not sold on the white form elements. I think gray with white type would work better for what you're trying to do here. I'd also leave some room for product description text. I don't think your form elements need to be that large. If you shrink 'em. You'll have more room to work with.

Nice work, Danger!

This is looking good so far! I think the second one displays the product better and will still be easy to make responsive.
