Project03 Prelim

Post by kristenrothbauer »

Hi Everyone!
For project 3 I decided to create a website for an Extreme Gardening Olympics event. For my first set of roughs, I have a simple green and beige color palette and I plan to add light sketches of garden vegetables or herbs as accents around the page. I included the home page and about page for that set. For my second I have a warmer inviting color palette and included a layout for the Olympic events and the schedule page because I want to make it a two-day event. I plan on having the schedule pictures open to a designed daily schedule of daily events. I'm not super sold on my designs and plan to work a lot more on them, so I'd love any advice! (For both mobile versions the logo acts as a hamburger menu)

I tried to include my zip file, but it is giving me the error 'there is an HTTP issue' when adding it to my attachments on the post and in the replies. If anyone has had this happen before and knows how to fix it please let me know!

Kristen, I would rather see an exciting lighter color than grey on your background. In fact I ask myself why do we need a gray over red and orange. When doing the mobile version, please be sure you are not splitting your local position over 2 background elements as your prelims show. This logo is stellar, bravo and excellent! And it is so excellent that please do not let it go dull grey.

Hello Kristen!

Let me just start off by saying that your logo is sooo good! The fonts were good as well. I like both versions of your website; however, I have a few suggestions.
First, we may need a different color in the background besides the gray, because it gives a dull vibe when it should actually be promoting brighter colors for a gardening website. When I think of gardening, I see beautiful bright or pastel flowers, green leaves, etc., so to add brightness and cool images of plants and flowers to your page would really make things pop. Other than that, you are off to a great start!

Hi! I like the layout you put on your website, It has a good amount of space between everything and fills the page just right. I couldn't choose between one or the other because I wasn't a fan of any of the colors, I feel like none of them stood out to me, maybe try brighter colors?

Hello,

I think your web design idea is really good. I think the second web design is really good. I think your color choice is really good. I think the match of purple, brown, gray, and green is really good. I also think your event idea is really good. And I think the logo and type styles are is really good match together!

Hi Kris!!

I love this!! It has that very serious feel of the Olympics while also just being so fun to look at! The colors all go together so well I especially like that light pink off the dark green. It's such an interesting combo!! Great work as usual :D
