Brian,

I like the layout and imagery from the second set of roughs and the color scheme from the first. Good job.

Hi Brian,

I agree with Aharon, love the large image on the top of the second set and a splash of color would be nice! Good job! :)

Your logo is giving me a bad case of design envy. I think it's terrific.

Yeah, definitely the layout of the second design. I think a good way to add color is to get some funky, cool, interesting ties. There are so many speciality ties available now, I think the Tie Shop should specialize in the most out there stuff, and that would add so much visual interest to your pages. That way you can keep your color palette really subdued, and let the product take the stage.

the second design is more visually interesting. it would be cool if the big tie on the model changed to whichever tie you clicked on, though that would probably be allot of extra work. I like the dark gradient in the very first frame, maybe that could go behind the guy. they are both pretty clean and uncluttered which I like. nice work

Both designs look very nice for me. I can easy navigate and understand what`s going on. I d go with the first one.

Well look at that, a tie shop. Very nice says I.

I like elements from both your presented designs. I like the strong imagery and layout from your second design along with the gradient and contrast from your first design. I'd say mix and match, as it were. Like Alexey's cruise ship sales website, this one will be made or broken by the details. Drop shadows, gradients, transparencies, typography and alignment; all of these things are critical to how this website will come out.

First things first, I'd loose the text based navigation and go with some buttons, particularly if you're going to use a large side bar like the one in your second design.

Next use the same design simplicty you have for your two designs but mix in little drop, shadows, textures and effects to detail your site.

Take a look at a few of these tie sales websites for inspiration:

http://www.thetiebar.com/

http://www.thesilktiefactory.com/

http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/mens/ties?id=10236

All in all, a good effort. I see the makings of an excellent design in there. Good work!
