Hi Martin,
Good job with both your designs!
I really like the first designs a little more than the 2nd designs.

The colors are more relaxing and calming, not to mention very organic feeling compared to the red color scheme.
The silhouette of the bonsai and bonsai sunset really looks good and gives it a great artistic feeling which is what Bonsai trees are.
The art of little trees! My brother farms and collects bonsai trees and has so many that they become a full time job just caring for them!
anyway....

I would arrange the photos on the second page a little more to make it a little more balanced.
I also might try and find an oriental looking font to add a little character since there are so many fun ones out there.

I like your green layout the best. You did a really good job on the logo i feel. I would change however the placing of the pictures on your second page. they just seem to be floating there. your whole site is nice and organized and than it kills it with floating squares. other than that i think are doing great.

I would say, stick with the second rough. I like the red design work you have done with the header.

Maybe try and use the bonsai silhouette from the gallery page of your first rough into the home page of the second rough. Mess around with the scaling, but definitely keep the red design work.

Tiny bonsai trees, I love it. Of these two I'm liking the second concept more, it might be because the first reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream with the color scheme and it seems more well-organized. I'd play around more with the home page of your second concept, rather than just have the links just lined up in the center. Make it match more to the inner page, and I think you'd be good to go.

I like the very very top design layout and colors, but I like the bottom design home page better. Maybe try combining the two???

I like your rough1, and I think it's really great idea that using bonsai as background (bonsaico1_gallery.jpg ).
I would like to see more unity, so maybe using bonsai on all pages as background.
