I am really leaning towards the first design. If the second design is what you want to go with, I'd say add some more color.

McKenzie, The grey color really pops with the colored font. This contrast is very easy on the eye. The camera lens photo is striking. Nav bars could be capitalized unless there is a reason to use lowercase. At the end of the day you need to choose your favorite, I do like #1. Way to go to have the nav bursting with color.
If we feel useful in life and loved, it sure makes life significant and wonderful

Hey Mckeznie, i'm digging the first design I like the use of the rainbow in the text. I'm also liking the unique design of the drop-down menu. I think a rainbow glow on the nav would also work rather than the text being neon. Nice job!
