Project 1 Roughs

Post by UnKool Moe Dee »

Here are my roughs for project one. I used the same color scheme for both layouts because I thought using the natural colors associated with bacon really worked well. My first layout emphasizes the photographs of the products and the second really emphasizes contrast and hierarchy.

I love the heading of the first two layouts, but I prefer the overall design of the second layout. Well done!

I absolutely, positively agree! The header on the first is phenomenal, you must have it no matter what! But, I do prefer the payout of the second for some reason. Not sure if it is the colors or just the way my eye travels through all the crazy baconness stuff. Either way, it works well. Nice job. Now I'm hungry again... ;)

I'm going to disagree here... I think the second design is awesome. Your use of silhouettes is what's grabbing me (the pig is to die for), and the understated Baconfinity logo is a subversive way of treating this ridiculous topic. That's what makes it so funny to me. I feel like the first one is just screaming BACONFINITY in my face, but I'd rather be conned into thinking this is something legitimate at first. Then the joke takes me by surprise. I think that's why I'm in love with design #2. Great stuff.

the colors are just perfect on these, and I like how every element is relevant to bacon. I really like the second design more, its got a nice balance and grid feel. its super friendly. I never knew there was such a thing as bacon apparel, that's funny (although that pug doesn't look all that thrilled about it)

Great choice of colors. My favorite is the second one. Very easy to navigate. First one is a little bit busy in comparison with the first design. Great work on type and imagery.

OMG BACON!!!! I've been waiting for this one.

I prefer your first design out of the two. It's got great textures and colors. It has a weight and realness about it that I'm just not feeling with your second design. Easy to use and navigate and I can smell the bacon cooking from here. I find the maroon type on tan background easy use and pick up and that Bacon Dude is just a little too excited about being eaten.

I do loose the text at the very top a little. You may want to try a dark outer glow to set the type off a little. Also, I would separate the product listings on the right side of your inner page a little better, they kind of run together form me, where as they are clear and easy to see/click on in your second design.

Overall an excellent job and I'm looking forward to seeing ... what you ...

... what you ...

... what ...

... wha ...
