I chose to sell "Bad Karma" as my shop. For example, say that guy cuts you off on the freeway. You can buy "bad karma" for him to possibly hit every red light on the way to his destination. That girl said your shoes look ugly, well she can spend 3 hours wiping dog poo off hers. (I plan on fine tuning these ideas a bit haha) I chose the name KarmaBug and tried to play on the bug aspect of it. The text is "Gangsta Ipsum" so don't feel bad if you don't understand it, I don't either haha. I plan to sell either bottle karma juice or actual karma bugs, depending on my illustrator abilities and or time. Since bad karma can be kinda a dark thing, I tried to create websites that were very over the top happy and child-like, just for the fun aspect of it. I was inspired by www.shipyourenemiesglitter.com (which is a real website haha). I am open to any and all feedback you might be able to provide!

I totally like your first design a whole lot better. its nice and clean along with fun. It would draw me in more than the one with the dirt background. the colors are fun and constant.

How, ADORABLE!

Dat little bug logo is to die for. He looks so damn happy being naughty. Very cool design, looks like a character that could make an appearance in Adventure Time or something. I really like your color choices, the bright, happy pinks and greens make it ironic that your promoting the distribution of bad karma. But oddly enough, they fit together so well. I like your top layout more, the bottom one is great, but I don't get how detailed photos of soil and grass relate back to bad karma, to me it just relates back to the bug/insect component more. Your little jar illustrations really make this idea work. I'd want to see more oddly shaped bottles in your final. Maybe like, the more expensive the bad karma is, the more twisted the bottle becomes? Great work, this is going to be amazing when it's finished!

Ha ha, cute idea! I, too have to go with the top layout. I'm wondering how a bolder version of the logo text would look? Good start!

Awesome! Love the idea I would definitely go with the first design! It's so fun and colorful! The only feedback I can give is to put some images in the what is karma bug so its not only text but that's it really looks great!

I like your idea! That is cute! I am not a fan of vector images so I would have to go with the second layout with the dirt. I like your layout and you have happy colors for karma being a @#$%. Haha! You could emphasize certain words to help express your idea "Making revenge fun again" Something like that.

Excessive happiness covering a pitch black inner core? Why, it's me in website form!

But seriously, it reminds me of that happy mind control commercial from Serenity.

Ordinarily I'd be all about the full browser window image background, but I really like the faux-children's book aesthetic of your first design. It really helps highlight the discordant nature of what your selling (happy joyous revenge). Go with that one. Man, that bug is so happy. Along with strongly establishing your concept, it's also a clean design that presents it's content well. The navigating is well placed and easy to follow in it's little banner, and there's plenty of room for text and objects in your large content area. The typography is also excellent. It works together with the layout, logo, and coloscheme to sell the totally wrong kids book aesthetic you are going for.

I'd mix in a few pictures in your about us section, 'cuz that's one hell of a wall of text. I'd also add just a little more detail and pattern to the images. Look at the art out of Miroslav Sasek's "This is ..." books for inspiration.

An excellent idea! I'm excited to see you pull it off.

Wow, Excellent, girl. Your design is just cater to my taste, you play my favor color so well, and the bug character design is cool, your products surprise me(I thought you are going to sell the bug, I love it at first sight….ha) , good job at bottle illustration as well. I think I need to buy one, but I don’t see any shopping car yet, guess you can put “add to car” to your page when you showing the detail of your products. I am so happy to meet you here,Ashleigh, I am lingling, talk to you in the classroom: )

I guess you will like the Fruity Oaty Bars commercial from Michael’s link "happy mind control commercial”, check it out, it is interesting.

These are so deceptively happy, it's delicious. I'm favoring the feel of the second rough, because the background image adds a lot of texture to it and it definitely adds more to the 'bug' idea (and it'd be great if you managed to illustrate those bugs). Both concepts are strong and definitely give off the friendly feel, so I'd say you definitely succeeded in your intent there. You could honestly go with either one and it'd be great, though I also like the color scheme of the first one. So difficult to choose one over the other...!

I very like the simplisity and fun colors. So far I like the version A better, the colors and overall compositon works much better. On your home page the navigation bar that looks like a blue ribbon, I would loose the ribbon and made it bigger, as well as I would of pulled the colors of your logo into your navigational bar. The logo looks great. It looks like it be a very fun site after your done! great start!
