Project #2 Final Critique

Post by recordd »

Hi Everybody...this is Danielle Record turning in my Project #2 Website with 12 Product Webpages included. I really had fun with this project and I enjoyed learning how to operate a shopping cart, as well. The one thing that I still couldn't get to work was the back and forth arrow's and close symbol for my slideshow?? I have no idea what to do...I have tried many different URL's within the lightbox css for them but everyone that I tried did not work...so FYI when you click on a picture in one of the galleries it will open up the slideshow and you can click through by clicking on the image.
Anyway one of the many issues that I ran into but I got it finished!!! :-) Please leave any comments and/or suggestions and I cannot wait to see everyone elses sites. Thank you soo much for looking!! :-)

Hi Danielle,
I really like your photography website.
It looks like you put a lot of time into finding great photos.

I like the black background/dark color theme to emphasis the photos.
It frames them really well giving the spotlight to the photos.

I would change the size of your banner photo.
It is too large and takes too much time away from the main point of the photos.
Because thats all you see in the first 3 seconds until you scroll down.
Remember the 3 second rule :)

Hope that helps,
Georgia

Ooooh. Nice contrast!

This is a super clean design that does a superb job marketing the photos and photography. I really like the high contrast black and white color scheme. It's sets itself up as a frame for the colorful pictures in the catalog. Navigation is a snap since the buttons are large and easy to use. Nice drop down menu, by the way. The pages are cleanly laid out and move the eye though easily. What color is used is especially eye catching due to the sepia surroundings.

My only real issue with it is the massive header on the inner pages. It serves well as an eye catcher on the homepage, but could use to be smaller on the inner pages.

Also, I saw a random Success Kid in there. Very nice.

Good work!

Hi, Danielle
I think your website is working great, the problem you mention doesn’t bother me at all. I still can see photos by clicking left and right area. Of douse it’s better if you fix it. It seem like something is hidden or your back, forth arrow and close symbol are the same color as your background color……ask Michael, I know he can help you and fix it in second. I love your drop down menu. Great!

This came out to be a nice and simple design. Which is effective, especially for selling portraits/photography. All your information is clear, and the overall website is easy to navigate. I'd say this was very successful. If I were to change anything, I'd say play around more with that huge banner/image at the top. It just feels a little overwhelming compared to all the other elements. Nice work though!

Danielle, you did a really nice job on this! It's easy to navigate and very pleasing to the eye. My only issue is that it's huge! I have to scroll sideways to get the whole picture. Lol! Nice work girl!

I really like your photo gallery I like seeing all the beautiful photography really nice! I kind of would like to see the header photo change on each page to show a variation of beautiful photography but that could just be me.
