When I was twenty-two years old I got a job running videotape for a local television news affiliate. Within several months I worked my way into the director's chair which included a small bit of design work creating over-the-shoulder graphics for newscasts. It didn't take long before I was paying more attention to the graphics than I was the news. It was then that I decided that design was what I really wanted to do with my life. Although I harbor a great deal of contempt for news media these days, I have not forgotten my roots. |
