Here is my roughs for the Pride 2021 event. My goal is for the page to look fun, yet trendy.

Hi!

Wow I love both of these layouts! I like that you chose pastel colors of the rainbow- it gives the usual colors a slight twist, I also think the type-styles you chose for both are perfect. I felt drawn to the first set of layouts, but I think theres a little too much space. I prefer the hamburger nav over the second layouts navigation. Something about the second layout feels more official to me or complete and I really like the continuous rainbow/stripe on the side, its just really satisfying.

Hi Darrell,

These look very inviting! I like that you chose a softer color palette than the vivid pride flag colors. It's unexpected, but the connection is still easily made. It also still feels very happy and celebratory. I really like the headline typeface you used that has the striped 3D-looking sides. It feels casual but still commands attention. Having the celebrity guests' names in different sizes and following the overall color scheme really adds interest and harmony. I think either layout could work fine. One thing that feels a bit awkward to me is the giant hamburger menu, but at the same time, it makes it easy to find. :)

Nice work!

I really like the first set of designs here. The font goes well with the flag in the background compared to the other set in my opinion. The layout feels a bit random to me but it could work well in a dynamic format. Good job!

Aaaaand once again I completely whiffed on leaving my two cents for someone in preliminary critique. Worst. Instructor. Ever. Oh well, I'll leave you my two cents anyway.

I like your "02"s myself. Having the pastel Pride flag go all the way across is much more visually interesting than having it be a strip on the left. It's also a stronger layout as well.

The rest of your design looks a bit like a 60's album cover which seems appropriate given Pride's origins. I like how you're using invisible center lines it the stripes of the Pride flag background to align your objects to. That looks really good. Nice typographic choices as well. Your typefaces work well together and are easily read. Good work with the cascading rainbow text for the acts that are going to show up. I don't mind the use of the hamburger on your computer layout. People are starting to get used to it now and it keeps the layout clean to preserve the album cover look. Your alignments are really great for leading the eye through the composition. Good margins on the whole thing, too. Everything's got room to breathe.

I'm curious what it will look like on a mobile device. A grid style layout like this one should collapse down pretty straightforwardly. Otherwise, I'm not seeing much wrong with where you are right now.

Great work!
