People who go to Burning Man are no mere “attendees” but rather active participants in every sense of the word: They create the city, the interaction, the art, the performance and ultimately the experience. Participation is at the very core of Burning Man, and there are many ways to participate.

YOU are Burning Man. Create your own form of participation! Create an art installation, a Theme Camp, a Mutant Vehicle, or performance. You can connect with an existing project through Spark or contact us for admission and approval.
Volunteer to help build the infrastructure of Black Rock City. First-time Burners can learn the ropes here. As a community-driven event operating in the spirit of the Ten Principles, volunteering is a form of participation, gifting and civic responsibility. No matter your skills or interests, there are ways to contribute your time, energy, and resources to help make the event happen, both in Black Rock City and year-round.
