Ali Banisadr is an Iranian-born American artist from New York City. Influenced from childhood memories of growing up in Tehran during the Iran Iraq war, Banidasr creates vivid, dynamic oil paintings comparative to that of Hieronymus Bosch and other figurative artists. His works are affected by the neurological condition synthesia, in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. He interprets this condition as sound controlling his movements.
