All about Saul Bass
A backstory on one of the most important
graphic Designers ever.
Born in the Bronx on May 8th, 1920, Saul Bass was a graphic designer and
oscar winning filmmaker. His influence is still seen everywhere, whether that be
from his distinct style, or his game-changing title sequences. Bass was a total powerhouse in
film, working with some of the most popular directors of his time, such as
Hitchcock and Kubrick. (He is even given partial credit for helping create the infamous
shower scene in Pyscho!) Alongside that, some of his logos are still in use today! His work
includes logos for Exxon, AT&T, and Warner Bros. Bass would pass away on
April 25th, 1996, but not without establishing himself as a major influence.
