One of Hofmann’s most prestigious projects was his poster series for the Stadttheater Basel, AKA the Basel City Theater. In these posters, his designs showcased strong hierarchy, bold typography, and dynamic compositions. His ability to take such simple visual elements and not only convey a strong message but also emotion is what caught the attention of all. In addition to his striking posters, Hofmann wrote a design manual that has transcended time and continues to be studied. In this manual, he explores principles of design and pushes them to the limit while also inviting designers to try it out themselves. Through his work, his legacy continues to grow and inspire.
