Eckõ

Born in 72 in New Jersey, Marc was right at the heart of the popularization of Hip Hop during his teenage years to find a unique window of opportunity as an artist.

Hip Hop boomed during the ’80s. It was emerging like anything before. Hip Hop started to break free from its early stigmatized underground form to become a glorified part of pop culture, which brought a big struggle mostly faced by rappers: commercial vs. real.

As Marc describes it in his own words he was an emotional, artistic kid that wanted to be part of such historical movement. Unfortunately for Marc, he was no MC (he didn’t rap) and he was no B-boy (he didn’t break dance). But there was something that he totally felt connected to. He got really interested into graffiti, the ultimate form of art in the metropolis. To Marc, it was “the extreme sport of art.” So he adopted Eckõ as his artistic tag name and took NYC as his very own canvas, without imaging what was to come.

Marc has inmortalized his talent in a variety of media from spray paint to fine oil paintings.
