In this scenario people inexplicably begin committing mass suicide. First they become disoriented, followed by resorting to the most convenient way to kill themselves.  The pandemic quickly spreads across the northeastern United States.  It is caused by an airborne neurotoxin exuded by the grass and plants. He suspects that the larger the group of people, the more likely it is to trigger the defense mechanism.  It is speculated that these attacks were brought on as a response to pollution and global warming.
