The "Waterworld" Scenario
In this scenario, global warming has caused the polar icecaps to melt, thereby covering the Earth entirely in water. The remainder of the world lives in floating communities and are constantly terrorized by pirates (think maritime Mad Max). In this world dirt and fresh water are valuable commodities, humans are beginning to evolve to adapt to life afloat, and the world is in search of dry land (which most people believe is just a myth).
